Solution to Firefox extensions

Nuff said! This sorts out one of the "features" in Firefox which requires extensions to specific the lastest version of Firefox on which it works. It's even worse than the "you have to recompile your modules for the latest Linux kernel" hassle since this affects the end user at a more direct level.

It's not difficult to build backwards and forward-compatible interfaces, it's just a shame that fewer people are. And before the "lightweight" argument appears, I should just say that it's a misnomer: it will remain lightweight when designed properly. Either that or it becomes obsolete, or is so far in the future that a 5K wrapper does not add to the bulk.

The antithesis is Direct X 9, which included a complete copy of 8 inside it, for those apps that relied on it. But that's the fault of both its design and implementation... and the fact it was a completely different product!
