Whilst randomly browsing the lists of various publishers recently I came across this book about porting. It's called Write Portable Code, and looks like it contains a lot of the content from my own book, Cross-Platform Game Programming. Alas, I'll have to traverse a bricks-and-morter bookshop before I know how similar our works are since there's no previews of it anywhere on the web, that I've found. It's funny how this is the first time I've ever agreed with the idea of putting paper-books online in such an exposed manner :)
Incidentally, the same author also wrote C++ Game Programmer's Secrets: What the Game Companies Are Afraid You'll Find Out . Hmmmm. This book includes, and I quote - "Complete 3d Asteroids Game With Source Code". If any company is afraid of a 3D asteroids game that'd be a big black mark in my book to never work for them!
But I'm truly not bitter. Which makes a change .... ;)
