 10:44 UTC+01  -  6 years. 6 long years. On Thursday it was exactly 6 years since I joined Facebook. In that time I've seen friends come and go, both metaphorically and literally. I've suffered the usual pains of love and loss, where my only company was the schadenfreude of watching them turn into someone I could never have loved. I've enjoyed experiences on four continents that no socially awkward boy, from a small coastal town, should ever have. I've had employers and friends quietly (and sometimes, openly) bully me, and stab me in the back. But I'm still here. Facebook has let me witness this in ways I never could before; maybe ignorance would have been bliss - but life is a harsh teacher, and I've learned every lesson. And remembered every name. This paragraph is where the conclusion normally goes, but I don't have one. So there! At least I'm still here. Muddling through. And happy in myself.
